How to do it

  1. Giver, sit on a sturdy chair with your feet flat on the floor and your back against the backrest.

  2. Receiver, sit back onto the giver's lap, facing away, with your feet planted and your knees together.

  3. Twist your upper body to one side and look back over your shoulder toward the giver.

  4. Giver, hold the receiver's waist and rock gently, shifting the twist from side to side.

Tips

  • Twist from the waist rather than wrenching the neck, and ease back if anything pulls.
  • Switch sides every few minutes to even out the work.
  • Giver, a hand on the receiver's back helps them hold the turn.
