Head Off the Bed

The giver lies on their back with their head tipped over the side of a high bed while the receiver stands at that edge. A straight, open angle, so the giver stays firmly in charge.

Good for

  • Giving control
  • Deep access
  • Hands free to roam

How to do it

  1. Have the giver lie on their back across the bed, with their head and neck just past the edge.

  2. Giver: rest your head in a cupped hand or on a rolled towel for support, and agree on a tap-out signal.

  3. Receiver: stand at the edge of the mattress, facing the giver, with feet apart and knees soft.

  4. Let the giver guide the approach, and keep every movement slow and shallow.

  5. Pull back right away when the giver taps or needs a breath.

Tips

  • The giver controls depth and pace, and the receiver keeps their hands off the giver's head.
  • Do not hang the head down for long, because it causes a rush of blood.
  • Skip this one with neck, throat, or blood pressure trouble.
