Dipping Standing

A tango-style lean: the receiver tips back from the hips with one leg hooked on the giver, held steady by the giver's arm. All drama, very little distance between you.

Good for

  • Showing off
  • Strong partners
  • Flexible partners
  • Out of bed

How to do it

  1. Stand close, with the receiver's arms around the giver's neck and one leg hooked up around the giver's hip.

  2. The giver plants both feet wide, slides one arm around the receiver's lower back and cups the raised thigh with the other hand.

  3. The receiver slowly leans back from the hips, keeping the arms locked around the giver, while the giver leans in to counterbalance.

  4. Hold the lean for a few breaths, then rock in small movements, keeping it shallow enough that nobody strains.

  5. To come out, the giver pulls the receiver upright by the back and arms, then you both stand and breathe.

Tips

  • Keep the lean modest. Past a certain angle it stops being sexy and starts being a back strain.
  • Practice the lean on its own, fully dressed, before you add anything else.
  • Agree on a word that means pull me up now. The giver's arms are doing a lot of quiet work.
