How to do it
Start with the receiver standing in front of the giver, facing the giver.
The receiver folds forward and sets both hands flat on the floor in front of the giver's feet.
The giver holds the receiver's hips and guides one leg up over the shoulder.
The other leg wraps around the giver's waist, and the giver stands with feet wide and knees soft.
Move with small, controlled motions, swap legs if there is time, and lower both legs together when finished.
Tips
- Stop immediately if the receiver feels any pressure in the neck, shoulders or wrists.
- Warm up the hips and hamstrings first, since one leg has a long way to go.
- Come out slowly, with the receiver kneeling for a few seconds before standing.
