How to do it
Stand facing each other, close, with the receiver's arms around the giver's shoulders.
Before anything else, the receiver warms up with a few easy leg swings or a hamstring stretch.
The receiver lifts one leg with a soft bend at the knee and rests the calf or ankle against the giver's waist or upper arm.
The giver cups the underside of the raised thigh to support its weight and steps in close.
Keep the standing knee slightly bent and the movements slow and small, then lower the leg gently and switch sides.
Tips
- Stop at a comfortable stretch, not a sharp one. Cold hamstrings and enthusiasm are a risky mix.
- Standing with the receiver's back against a wall makes balance far easier.
- If the leg cannot reach the giver's waist, rest it lower on the hip, and the giver can hold it up instead.
